About Papers with Alpha
Finding research that actually matters for trading is slow. arXiv and SSRN publish everything without a filter, and most reading lists are flat, unannotated and out of date. Papers with Alpha is a short, hand-picked library instead: 124 papers and books today, organised into 12 reading paths.
How papers are chosen
- Every paper in the core list has a plain-English summary of why a trader should care. If that can't be written, the paper doesn't go in.
- Each paper is tagged by level, time horizon (HFT, intraday, LFT), theme, asset class, market, and the data you need to test it.
- Every link is checked against Crossref, arXiv or the publisher. Where a free legal copy exists (arXiv, SSRN, the author's site or a regulator), it's linked too.
- New research arrives weekly in What's New. The best of it moves into the core list, and reader likes help decide.
Likes, dislikes and your privacy
Anyone can see how many people liked or disliked a paper, but nobody can see who. When you dislike a paper you can say why (outdated, too theoretical, wrong level, broken link), which tells us exactly what to fix. Rankings use a confidence-adjusted score, so a paper with 90 likes out of 100 ranks above one with 3 out of 3.
Not investment advice
Summaries describe what papers claim, for education. They are not recommendations to trade anything, and past results in papers rarely survive costs, crowding and time unchanged.
